The residents of Millrace felt a little toey last week after a visit from Steve Goldthorpe.
Millrace's staff and residents were treated with two free reflexology workshops from Mr Goldthorpe in celebration of World Reflexology Week where they learnt and tested the basics of the age-old art on each other.
Mr Goldthorpe of Steve's Reflexology arranged to conduct two free workshops at Millrace for World Reflexology Week to show the residents how to help each other relax and help relieve ailments.
For many of the participants it was the first time they had experienced reflexology in any form, but for others it has become a weekly blessing.
Jean Hynes, 80, is evidence of the benefits of reflexology. She has been receiving treatment since injuring her spine in an accident nearly three years ago and credits her current health to reflexology.
"Reflexology has done me a world of good. My spine was severely injured in the accident, but Steve has helped me greatly, I feel like I can live again. Without it, I'd not be able to go out or do as much. It's given me a new lease on life," Mrs Hynes said.
"I think it's a wonderful thing, I'm right behind it."
